China Adjusts the Construction Scale of New PV Power Station
Beijing, October7 (Xinhua, reporter Chen Weiwei) -- National Energy Bureau recently issued a notice on increasing the construction scale of new photovoltaic power stations by 5,300,000 KW. Renewable energy pilot cities and green energy pilot counties with favorable PV power station construction conditions, and such cities/counties that have well completed their former construction plans or have actively made innovations in photovoltaic development will be encouraged to construct new PV power stations to a larger scale.
According to National Energy Bureau, the adjustment is made based on the status of PV power station construction and operation in the first 6 month of this year and the demand for PV power stations. They have adjusted this year’s PV power station construction scale of some regions including Inner Mongolia, Heibei and Xijiang where greater scale increase is required.
It was required in the Notice that administrative departments of energy at provincial and city level shall coordinate with grid corporations in a timely manner to settle down related grid construction issues. In principle, all the projects should be started in 2015 and be completed and connected to grid by 30June, 2016. In addition, grid corporations shall soon work out related grid construction plans to promote grid transformation, so as to offer grid connection service for PV power generation projects.
Before that, National Energy Bureau has issued “Notice on Implementation Plan of the 2015 PV Power Station Construction“ in March, indicating that the scale of new photovoltaic power stations constructed in China during 2015 should reach 17.8 million KW. Total construction scale of new centralized and distributed PV power stations in various regions during 2015 shall not exceed the scale increase target set in the above Notice. Projects in this scope can enjoy subsidy from national fund for renewable energy.
